Luxembourg is the smallest independent railway in Western Europe and at the same time a crossroads: vehicles from Germany, France and Belgium meet in a small area, because the country borders on three electrification systems.

CFL is relaxed about photographers, and photography on platforms is unproblematic. Public transport in the country is free, which makes getting to any viewpoint easy.

Luxembourg City's main station handles practically all of the country's traffic. For a day visit, a single well-chosen viewpoint is enough.
